- Deliverable Diagnostic
Your report reflects your firm. Are you sure every detail holds up?
Your deliverables carry your firm's reputation, revenue and liability. The Deliverable Diagnostic reviews reports you have already issued, finds the contradictions that passed review, and shows where they entered the process.
Firms are confident in their reports.
The final deliverable tells a different story.
When asked about the quality of their reports, technical report-driven firms rated their own report quality highly. In a separate review of issued deliverables, Quire found confirmed inconsistencies in documents that had already reached clients.
Average self-rating for report quality. Most firms say 9 or 10.

The details that slip through final review
Every example below comes from technical reports that passed internal QA, were signed off, and delivered to paying clients. None were caught until our audit.

The EPA got renamed halfway through the report.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Association (EPA) database identified one listing.
Page 3 had it right: the Environmental Protection Agency. Reusable language carried the wrong name forward.

One site visit. Two dates. Neither page knew about the other.
The site visit was completed on May 21, 2026 by the project assessor.
The executive summary dates the same visit May 14, 2026. Seven pages apart, same reviewer.

The table counted eight borings. The summary lost two of them.
Field exploration included six soil borings advanced to depths of up to 30 feet.
Table 3-1 lists eight. The table was updated. The sentence that summarizes it was not.

The photographs were filed in an appendix that doesn’t exist.
The photographic record is provided in Appendix D.
The table of contents lists the photographs under Appendix C. The report ends at C.
A final read has a lot to catch.
Facts are entered in the field, copied into tables, and repeated in narrative. When one changes, a reviewer has to find every place it appears.
Benchmark
How would your reports score?
The Diagnostic turns report quality into a number you can compare. Your issued reports, measured against every diagnostic completed to date.
- Confirmed issues per report
- Percent of your reports affected
- Your most common defect categories
- How each measure compares with the benchmark
Where Quire comes in
Better reports begin upstream.
Most of the errors above come from the same fact being typed by hand in four or five places. Quire’s Technical Report Management™ platform enters it once and carries it everywhere it appears.
Integrations bring data in once, so the numbers can't disagree.
Report Tags keep every project detail the same in every section.
Templates keep numbering and references pointing to the right place.
WordBank puts the approved wording on every page, every time.
Standard language is inserted from a maintained library, not retyped.

How the benchmark is built
Benchmark figures combine completed Deliverable Diagnostics across geotechnical, Phase I ESA and property condition assessment work. Each diagnostic reviews reports the firm has already issued to clients. A report set is the collection reviewed together in one diagnostic.
An issue is counted only when two statements in the same report cannot both be true, and only after it has been confirmed against the document. Judgment calls about the engineering or science are not counted. Categories overlap, so category percentages are not additive.
Firms rate their own report quality 8.2 out of 10 on average, self-reported in conversations with Quire’s team. That figure and the diagnostic data are separate sources. These results describe the reports in the current dataset and are not a representative sample of the industry. Benchmark data expands as additional diagnostics are completed.
